A Fun & Interactive Halloween Mini Album with BooVille | Camino Garcia

Hello crafty friends! It's Camino here on the Pinkfresh Studio blog. Today I'm sharing my first mini with the new collection BooVille by Paige Taylor Evans.
For this project, I'm also using embroidery thread. Black tulle, and sequins matching the colors of the collection.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1.       Outside Cover. Prepare the outer cover with a 12-inch sheet of acetate (scored at ½, 3.5¼, 3 and ½ inch) for the front. Then, add a white cardstock backing on the inside and another piece of spiderweb-patterned paper on the outside (both measuring 6¼ by 5¼). Now,we decorate the acetate cover.

2.        Inside Front Cover: Create the album’s structure using two 5 by 6 inches pieces of cardstock for the front and back covers and a 5 by 2.5 inches piece for the spine. Cut the decorative spiderweb-patterned paper to cover the cardstock. Before gluing it on, remember to embroider the spiderweb pattern along the spine and back cover with black thread. You can decorate it now.

 3.      Spine. Ad a 4 ¾ spine of four hinges for the 4 pages. To create the pockets for these four pages, you’ll need eight papers (4 ¾ by 5 ¾ inches) from the collection that go well together. Finally, glue the pockets to the spine of the mini, alternating between top and side openings on each page.

4.     Create the first pocket. Make a flap at the left side and attach it to the inside of the front cover. You can create Halloween cards for the inside like I did or simply leave that space for memorabilia.

5.     Create the second pocket. Make a flap at the bottom and attach it to the inside of the back cover. You can create a little notebook for the inside like I did or simply leave that space for more photos and/or mementos.

6.     Decorate the album. This is the best part! Decorate each page and every corner using all the gorgeous embellishments from the collection - Puffy Stickers, Ephemera, Chipboard Pieces, Cardstock Stickers, Enamel Shapes, Rub-ons…
Each pocket can hold photos, journaling, little cute surprises…

For this mini album, I used a black tulle ribbon to bind it together. I also used that same tulle to add decorative touches, such as covering the pockets on the front and back covers—which contain loose sequins inside—to give the project some movement.
