Creating an Interactive Arch Layout with Lovely Lane | Susi Becerra

Hello everyone! Susi here, back on the Pinkfresh Studio blog with a new 12 x 12 scrapbook layout created using the Lovely Lane collection. For this project I was inspired by the Life you Love patterned paper (sideB) and combined it with the beautiful Fluttering Butterflies washi tape to add movement and a whimsical touch to the page.

Step-by-Step Instructions 

1. Cut the arches. Fussy-cut the arch shapes from the Life you Love patterned paper, including the inner white areas of the arches.
2. Create dimension with the arches. Arrange the arches at different heights and adhere them to the base of the layout using 3D foam adhesive under each arch to create depth and visual interest.
3. Make the butterflies. Use the Fluttering butterflies washi tape and the coordinating die to create your butterflies. Set them aside for the final embellishing step.
4. Add floral layers. Decorate the bottom of the layout with floral elements from the Lovely Lane collection, building layered clusters to add movement and texture.
5. Add your photos. Add your photos, mine are die cut into a circular shapes, to tuck them into the arches.
6. Title and subtitles. Create the title and subtitles using the alphabet stickers from the collection to personalize your layout.
7. Final embellishments. Add the butterflies to bring extra movement to the page, and finish with enamel dots.

Interactive Tip : Sliding photos inside the arches.

To turn your layout into an interactive page, you can make your photos slide up and down inside the arches. Here's a simple way to do it:

- Die cut two small circles from white cardstock (they need to be larger than the opening)

- Place one circle on the back of the arch as a support.

- Add a piece of 3D foam adhesive in the center opening of the arch, and place the second circle on top of the foam (make sure the adhesive doesn't touch the arches).

-Adhere your photo to this top circle.

This creates a small slider mechanism that allows the photo to move up and down inside the arch, adding a fun interactive element to your layout.
