Building Layers & Dimension with Crafted Moments | Karlla Dauer

Hello everyone! Karlla here, and I’m so excited to share this new layout with you.

Today, I’m featuring a layout created with the beautiful Crafted Moments collection. One of my favorite ways to add interest to a project is by incorporating die cuts and dimension. I love building layers and creating a focal point on one side of the page, and that’s exactly the approach I took with this layout.

Step by step instructions:

Trim the Beauty Ahead patterned paper (yellow B-side) to 10.5" x 10.5".
Cut a 10" x 10" piece of white cardstock and adhere it to the center of the yellow patterned paper. Add hand stitching or machine stitching around the edges for extra texture and detail.
Mount these layers onto the B-side of the Made of Sunlight patterned paper using foam adhesive to create dimension.
Fussy cut the sun motifs from the B-side of the Stay Present paper, including six suns with the blue border and three of the sun images only.
Arrange your photo, the fussy-cut suns, and a selection of ephemera and floral die-cuts in a horizontal design slightly above the center of the page. Use a combination of liquid adhesive and foam adhesive to create varying levels of dimension.
Create an additional embellishment cluster along the bottom edge of the layout to help balance the design.
Finish the layout by adding rub-ons and enamel dots for the perfect finishing touches.

I absolutely loved creating this layout. I had so much fun working with the die-cuts and seeing how beautifully all the elements came together.
